Who is in charge of enforcing a child support order?

The Minnesota Child Support Enforcement is a part of the Department of Human Services. The services are provided through county offices through out the state.

Age of Emancipation

MN Statute 518A.26 Age 18, in some instances the support may continue until age 20 if the child is still attending a secondary school, or an individual who, by reasons of physical or mental condition, is incapable of self-support.

Statute of Limitations to enforce a child support order

MN Statutes 541.04 & 548.091 Judgments will be considered paid 10 years from when the last installment is due.

Interest

The interest rate varies but is allowed according to MN Statute 518A.59 provides for interest to accrue on a payment or installment of child support whenever the unpaid amount due is greater than the current support amount due.
