Who is in charge of enforcing a child support order?
The child support enforcement office is included in the Missouri Family Support Division which is a part of the Missouri Department of Social Services. Each county has its own child support enforcement division to handle the day to day enforcement duties.Age of Emancipation
Missouri Revised Statute Ch 452.340 says that support shall terminate at the child's 18th birthday unless the child is still in high school or a GED program. If the child is still in a secondary education program the child support may continue until age 21 or graduation which ever occurs first.If upon graduation from high school or another form of secondary education and the child is enrolled into a higher education, with at least 12 credit hours, no later than October of the year following their graduation then support shall continue until the child's 22nd birthday or completes his or her education whichever occurs first.
